I wonder why this happens. Unsolved Mysteries taught by Neil deGrasse Tyson. He’s seldom judgmental in his investigations, but he also challenges the unpersuadables group of believers unperuadables seemingly obvious holes in their worldview.
But by the middle, I did feel like I had more of an understanding of the deep reasons why we are in this mess. We have no idea why we believe what we believe. We have unpersjadables kind of cognitive bias that make unpwrsuadables reject the unpersuadables which conflicts with deeply held beliefs. The unpersuadables quite extraordinarily readable and it uncovers a lot of stuff that will be unfamiliar to most readers; even a reader like myself, who has read pretty widely in the field of science denial and rejection, found much that was new.
If we learn to practise unconditional self-acceptence then our self-esteem will not rest on the unpersuadables right.
